Rhenus began providing e-fulfilment logistics services for Springlane, a German online retailer of around 15,000 cooking and dining products.
The contract covers the storage and picking of products sold by Springlane at Rhenus’ multi-user logistics facility in Duisburg. Earlier in the year, Rhenus expanded the facility by 20,000 sq m to 90,000 sq m, in order to cater for new e-commerce customers.
Thomas Brand, Regional Manager at Rhenus Warehousing Solutions commented, “Our highly developed third-party logistics base in Duisburg provides ideal conditions for accommodating Springlane’s own-brand imports, which are transported along the river Rhine, in the goods in stock in a quick and cost-efficient manner; after all, our facility is close to Europe’s largest inland waterway port.”
