Penske Logistics will provide contract logistics to support the company’s engine, transmission, and axle supply chain operations in Redford, Michigan. For inbound operations, Penske will provide dedicated contract carriage services, warehousing, and value-added services such as sequencing and kitting operations. For outbound operations, Penske will manage a NAFTA consolidation centre.
The contract expands on the existing business that the two companies have with each other. Penske Logistics currently provides Detroit Diesel with international freight forwarding and other global supply chain services.
Detroit Diesel, a subsidiary of Daimler Trucks North America LLC, produce a wide range of heavy-duty diesel engines, transmissions, axles, safety systems, and connected vehicle services for the automotive industry.
