Panalpina moves Egypt headquarters to Cairo Cargo City at Cairo International Airport

Panalpina has moved its head office in Egypt and “100% of its Cairo operations” to the newly developed Cairo Cargo City at Cairo International Airport, becoming the first freight forwarder to locate its headquarters there.

Cairo Cargo City encompasses an area of 150,000 sq m and includes three main terminals: export, import and express. Both the import and export terminals include general cargo zones and dedicated perishables centres.

Fouad A. AbouElela, Panalpina’s country head of Sales and Marketing, commented, “Being in the heart of action and close to the government’s business related entities, such as the import and export authorities and the cargo terminals, will enable the team to serve our local and international customers better. Likewise, this will benefit our customers as the proximity to the cargo handling and customs clearance will make our day to day Air Freight operations more agile.”

Looking ahead, the Swiss forwarder sees the greatest growth in Egypt from the oil & gas, capital projects, telecoms, automotive and healthcare sectors.
