Night Star Express (NSE) Hellmann BV has expanded its logistics location in `s-Heerenberg, the Netherlands. With the expansion of the existing property, the company is reacting to the increased demand and the resulting increased volume in the area of night-time deliveries. A modern office building with 312 sq. m. of usable space and a new 1,884 sq. m. cross-docking warehouse will be built. The investment volume has amounted to €2.8m.
The 5,224 sq. m. cross-docking warehouse had reached its capacity limits with a 61% increase in consignment numbers since 2009. After thorough examination of various alternatives, Hellmann decided to build a new building on the adjacent 5,849 sq. m. extension area, for which a pre-emptive right had already been secured in 2009.
The Night Star Express Hellmann serves the entire delivery area in the Netherlands and Belgium from its `s-Heerenberg location. The offer is primarily aimed at customers from the after-sales sector of the automotive, agriculture and construction machinery industry.
With the expanded facility, NSE Hellmann BV is using its strategic location advantage directly on the German-Dutch border and thus strengthening its market position as the only night express service provider in the Lower Rhine region. In the future, the site will also be used for other logistics services, such as LCL and FCL loads.
