Nagel-Group acquires Tiefkühlcenter Glesien

Nagel-Group shares

Nagel-Group has acquired all the shares of Tiefkühlcenter Glesien (TCG). The acquisition is subject to the approval of the German Antitrust Authorities.

Carsten Taucke, CEO of the Nagel-Group, commented on the complete takeover of the TCG Glesien: “Frozen logistics has turned out to be a vital pillar of the Nagel-Group in Germany, in which we will continue to invest”.

A part of the TCG Glesien GmbH, based in Schkeuditz, in the Free State of Saxony, was transferred to the Nagel-Group when it acquired the frozen food specialist Transthermos in 2016. This new step involves TC Beteiligung GmbH relinquishing the remaining 81% to the Nagel-Group. The Tiefkühlcenter covers the entire range of services, from cold storage to picking right through to quality control, with more than 16,200 pallet spaces.

Christian Berlin, Managing Director of Nagel-Group’s frozen division said: “TCG Glesien is already a significant site for our frozen food network. The acquisition of all the shares allows us to integrate the branch even more effectively and explore options for additional investments such as further expansion”.

The Nagel-Group has a total of 27 frozen logistics centres in Germany and specialises in frozen food logistics for all consignment sizes.
