Militzer & Münch opens new site in Germany to serve international Balkan transport

The Militzer & Münch Group has opened a new location at Sprockhövel near Wuppertal in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The new branch was set up to offer international logistics services to customers in the region, with a focus on transports to the Balkans; however, Sprockhövel serves all other destinations via road, air and sea too.

The Sprockhövel team recently picked up a “major contract” for an internationally operating DIY chain, where it will supply stores in Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia. The team at Sprockhövel will organize the entire supply chain from pick-up to delivery and also handle returns.

The company said the expansion of its network was due to last year’s good development.

“In the air and sea freight segment as well as in road transports we register above-average increases”, says Dr. Lothar Thoma, CEO M&M Militzer & Münch International Holding AG. “We owe this mainly to the high demand for transports to the Maghreb states and along the New Silk Road.”

This year, the company is focusing on further development of traffic on the Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Turkey and Russia trade lanes.
