The French post office has launched Colissimo Pass, a subscription service which offers customers unlimited free delivery at an introductory rate of €9 per year.
Customers enjoy unlimited delivery and zero shipping costs on partner websites.
The service is currently in a pilot phase, offered at a special introductory price of €9 between October 25 of last year and April 30 of this year. The normal cost of the service will be €39.
According to Les Echos, the Colissimo Pass will be launched officially in the coming months. The Colissimo Pass includes, for all purchases that are made in partnering online stores, free delivery (with no minimum order required), free returns and a premium customer service, which is accessible seven days a week.
Currently, there are 11 partnering e-commerce websites, which include Happy Dressing, Domadoo, Homéose and Mondebio. There are no real leading e-commerce brands, with the exception of Chapitre.com, but more partners will probably be added soon.
“The success of this formula depends on the ability of La Poste to enlist a maximum of online merchants, especially big names in fashion or leisure”, Les Echos writes.
La Poste’s target is to have 30 online merchants partnering in the summer and 50 by Christmas.
