GLP leased a 9,000 development at its Magna Park, Berlin-Werder (Havel) to Amazon

GLP has announced the development of a new 37,000 sq m logistics centre in Upper Silesia, Lędziny, Poland.

GLP has announced it has leased a 9,000 sq m build-to-suit development at its Magna Park, Berlin-Werder (Havel) to Amazon. The development was completed this month.

GLP states that the long-term lease to Amazon highlights the continued success of Magna Park Berlin-Werder (Havel) and is speculatively developing a total of approximately 62,000 sq m of logistics warehouses on the site.

Magna Park Berlin-Werder (Havel) is located southwest of Berlin on the A10 motorway ring. This is said to allow direct access to both the A9 (Berlin-Leipzig) and A24 (Berlin-Leipzig) motorways, with the A2 (Berlin-Hannover) motorway a 7-minute drive away. The development is 14KM from Potsdam and 30KM from Berlin.

The company said that Berlin, along with its neighbouring Brandenburg, are important economic areas that are rapidly growing region and will act as a key distribution hub for much of continental Europe due to its central location.

Rieke Ringena, Development Director, GLP, said, “This is the 10th project that we have undertaken for Amazon in Europe and we are delighted to be able to play our part in supporting its growth across in the region once again. This new project follows our recent leasing of a 13,000 sq m warehouse in Gretlade, Hannover, to the company and marks another key milestone in our ongoing relationship which we look forward to strengthening further in future.”
