GEODIS has announced that as part of its strategy it will focus on strengthening its contract logistics and freight forwarding activities in the UK market. Today, the company is present in 11 locations across the United Kingdom, serving local and international customers.
As a consequence of this strategy, it has made the choice of serving the UK market through a fully-owned network. Therefore, GEODIS has decided to discontinue those distribution & express activities that are carried out by partner companies.
“With this move, we aim to provide a strengthened and specialised offering to our customers in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and also to all companies outside the UK carrying out business there” says Marie-Christine Lombard, Chief Executive Officer of GEODIS. “Focusing on international trade flows to and from the United Kingdom, as well as dedicated Contract Logistics services within this national market, will allow us to better meet the business needs of our customers.”
