GEFCO Group has received Good Distribution Practice (GDP) compliance certification from Bureau Veritas for the road transportation of pharma products in nine countries: Bulgaria, Italy, Morocco, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Turkey and UK.

This follows the certification of GEFCO’s processes in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Greece, Romania and the Group’s headquarters in France last year. GEFCO is now certified GDP compliant in 15 countries, strengthening its commitment to quality management processes in an increasingly complex market.

GDP certification demonstrates that GEFCO fulfils the requirements of the European Commission Guidelines on Good Distribution Practice of Pharmaceutical Products for human use. The certification is valid for three years.

Tony Gunn, Executive Vice-President of GEFCO’s Air & Sea division said: “We will continue to rise to meet customers’ challenges in the private and public sectors and pursue additional certification for road transport in more European countries in 2020.”
