FedEx Express going floral in Colombia

FedEx Express, participated in Proflora, a flower trade show in Bogota, Colombia, between October 3 and 4, 2019. There, FedEx introduced its most recent logistics and transportation solution service, FedEx Delivery Manager International, to the floricultural logistics sector in Colombia.

As one of the nation’s most robust industries, the Colombian floriculture benefits from its technical capabilities and the quality of its products; totalling approximately $1.5bn* in sales and being one of the largest employers in the agricultural sector creating more than 140,000 formal jobs.

FedEx Delivery Manager International is now offering an interactive e-commerce delivery service it claims will allow retailers to provide additional flexibility to their customers, such as setting the time and location for their deliveries, at no additional cost.

FedEx has shown commitment to the flower industry, as indicated by its Miami-Bogota-Medellin-Miami route, operating six days a week and facilitating the arrival of Colombian products, flowers in particular, to the United States. FedEx’ hopes being to win over Colombian flower producers with its Express experience for the transportation of perishables.
