DPD Group expands presence in Central Europe

The Geis Group has announced that it has sold its parcel companies in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to DPD group. The sale aims to strengthen the core businesses of both groups: last-mile delivery for DPD and international distribution and logistics services for Geis in both countries. The transaction is subject to approval by the anti-trust authorities.

Additionally, the sale will boost DPD’s national presence in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Geis Parcel Czech Republic and Geis Parcel Slovakia claim to be one of the largest parcel service providers in their countries. Both companies have been operating profitably for many years.

“In the future, we want to concentrate on our traditional core businesses of forwarding services, contract logistics and air and sea freight and further expand our strong market position in Central Europe,” said Hans-Georg Geis and Wolfgang Geis, Managing Partners of the Geis Group.

In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the Geis Group is already the market leader in the national general cargo sector. In parcel logistics, Geis will work closely with DPD in the future.
