On the back of a successful launch in Germany, DHL has now launched its digital freight platform Saloodo! in the UK.
The platform is an online marketplace which connects shippers and transport providers on demand. Both domestic and international UK road freight services can be processed.
Saloodo! can provide quotes and invoices in various currencies, and also take into account local taxation rates. Payments can be made by credit card, PayPal, SEPA and now by invoice, a more attractive option for medium-sized companies, according to DHL.
The Saloodo! driver app, which displays carriers order details as well as route information and enables them to transfer shipment updates and documents in real-time to the platform, has also been improved. In addition to German and English, the app is now available in eleven new languages: Bulgarian, Czech, Dutch, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian and Spanish.

Saloodo! will next launch in Spain and Portugal in autumn.
