DHL expands Airfreight Plus network to Russia and CIS region


DHL Global Forwarding has announced that it is extending its DHL Airfreight Plus service by integrating Moscow and other major Russian cities into the product’s network. The expansion will to increase its total reach to 54 countries. DHL plans to expand the service to other cities within CIS by the end of 2016.

The air freight solution provides customers with intra-European or intra-Asian door-to-door air transportation for cargo up to two tons. Altogether the service is made up of more than 11,000 daily departures across Europe and Asia carried out by DHL’s owned fleet and other commercial carriers.

“We have noticed a switch from overnight demand to more economical distribution solutions, and thus an increasing demand for our DHL Airfreight Plus product,” said Ingo-Alexander Rahn, Global Head of Air Freight, DHL Global Forwarding. “By offering scheduled deliveries and a choice of transit times and various service benefits at a simple all-inclusive rate for end-to-end shipping, we meet our customers’ needs for cost effective transport options, while growing our air freight business and footprint in Europe and Asia.”
