DB Schenker offers Stability Package against uncertainty in ocean cargo

DB Group reported its half-year results with total Group revenues of €21.8bn, up 12.2% compared with the same period in 2020.

DB Schenker is to offer a Stability Package for customers of its competitor Damco. Intended for affected companies, the package includes an offer to take over short-term service agreements of up to two months’ contract period for the same conditions as agreed with Damco. With the Stability Package, DB Schenker aims to respond to market unrest following an announcement of A.P. Moeller-Maersk to discontinue the Damco brand and its FCL NVOCC business.

Thorsten Meincke, Member of the Management Board for Air and Ocean Freight at DB Schenker, said, “Stable conditions promise stable supply chains: that is what DB Schenker stands for. The last thing shippers need at present is further uncertainty. We are making an offer to all those who are now looking for longterm security and reliability. Our customer advisors are available immediately”.

DB Schenker said, in order to take on these obligations, it will be able to access globally secured ocean freight capacities at short notice. For companies who are in longer running agreements with Damco, DB Schenker pledges to provide prioritised quotes on short notice.
