Dart Group’s Fowler Welch completes Teynham extension

Work has been completed at Fowler Welch’s Teynham depot. The extension has added an additional 50,000 sq ft of temperature controlled space, making the depot 120,000 sq ft in total.

Located in Kent, the investment will provide the capacity needed to serve fresh produce suppliers growing in, and importing through Kent. This includes the increasing throughput of Fowler Welch’s joint venture, ISS, a fruit ripening and packing business based at the Teynham site.

The extension was completed at the end of July with operations moving in early August.

Mike Fisher, General Manager at Fowler Welch Coolchain said, “The additional space in the form of the warehouse extension in Teynham will be a welcome addition to our Kent capacity. The building contractor, Gallagher have a done great job and minimising the impact on our neighbours and disruption to our ongoing operation.”
