The CMA CGM Group has launched the Reefer Pharma division, dedicated to temperature-controlled shipping of pharmaceutical products.
According to the company, the solution guarantees high standards of quality at all stages of shipping (storage, transport and handling). It features a fleet of 385,000 TEU sterile refrigerated containers, which undergo strict checks, including at the warehouse. During transportation, they are subject to limited handling, and temperature checks and data analysis are also performed throughout the shipment.
CMA CGM said that it will also provide its customers with a team of experts constantly monitoring shipments, from the Group’s head office in Marseilles, aboard its ships and from the company’s operational centres in Singapore and Miami.
According to CMA CGM, its solutions meets health and safety requirements as well as European regulations, including the European Union’s Good Distribution Practice requirements, regulating the monitoring and distribution chains of pharmaceutical products.
