Bolloré Transport & Logistics opens a new warehouse in Ivory Coast

Bolloré Transport & Logistics and supply chain services company Czarnikow are collaborating to support Bolloré’s sustainable development in East Africa through the VIVE Sustainable Supply Programme.

Bolloré Transport & Logistics has inaugurated a new 10,000 sq m warehouse in Vridi, Abidjan. It thus provides manufacturers with a storage area of more than 26,000 sq m exclusively dedicated to cocoa exports. With this new warehouse, Bolloré Transport & Logistics now has 400,000 sq m of storage space in Abidjan and San Pedro.

Ivory Coast is the world’s largest producer of cocoa with around 2m tonnes per year and produces around 40% of the global output. Bolloré Transport & Logistics is involved in the country’s logistics transformation process and seeks to provide transport solutions for the agricultural sector.

In addition to the new warehouse, the company installed a bulk cocoa packing station and two additional weighbridges to improve the quality of service.

This new equipment is expected to generate significant productivity gains by improving the rates on this cocoa stuffing site, which is reportedly the largest in the world. Bolloré expects that its export customers will also benefit from multiple services including transportation, logistics, bean export process management, and Third Party Detention.
