Bolloré Logistics deploys zero-emissions electric vans in Singapore

Bolloré Transport & Logistics and supply chain services company Czarnikow are collaborating to support Bolloré’s sustainable development in East Africa through the VIVE Sustainable Supply Programme.

Bolloré Logistics officially deployed a fleet of zero-emission electric vans which represents another step towards the company’s pursuit of sustainable supply chain solutions after the launch of Singapore’s first hybrid shuttle in 2015. These vans are used for delivering products to retail stores in downtown Singapore, serving fashion and luxury customers for their day-to-day last mile deliveries and e-commerce services across the island.

The vans are charged daily via charging stations that are soon to be powered by solar energy, making these deliveries truly zero emission. Mathilde Dumoulin, Sustainability Manager for Bolloré Logistics Singapore said: “Electric vehicles charged through the Singapore power grid are already achieving a positive 75% reduction in GHG emissions. Leveraging on renewable energies will bring us even further”.

The electric vehicles will cover more than 90,000 km per year, saving up to 17 t of CO2 – the equivalent of 6,321 ltr of diesel consumed. Moreover, they are equipped with Internet of Things (IoT) and security systems, such as real-time tracking, driving behaviour monitoring & electronic proof-of-delivery (EPOD).

Frederic Marcerou, Managing Director of Bolloré Logistics Singapore said: “In the spirit of our CSR Program, ‘Powering Sustainable Logistics’, we are proud to propose alternative, greener and smarter solutions to our customers. We still have a long way ahead in the sustainability journey, but are committed to improve step-by-step through the use of innovative technologies and partnerships with our stakeholders to make this possible”.
