Austrian Post has released its Q3 results, reporting a revenue of €570.1m in Q3 of 2021, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%, or 2.4% on a like-for-like basis excluding the subsidiary Aras Kargo. Austrian Post states that the revenue increase reflected the structural change and enhanced importance of the parcel segment, which has performed well in 2021. This has outweighed a reported 2.6% year-on-year decrease in revenue in the Mail segment.

The company also states that earnings were improved due to the increase in revenue, again benefitting from the ongoing increase in e-commerce. EBITDA was reported at €81.9m in Q3, a 21.2% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.

Revenue in the Parcel & Logistics segment was reported at €277.6m, a 33.0% increase on the same period a year prior. The Parcel & Logistics segment accounted for 48.7% of revenue in Q3, growing from 40.4% in Q3 2020. Austrian Post states that in the first 3 quarters of 2021, parcel volumes have increased 16.0% in Austria, 14.0% in Turkey, and 17.0% in central and eastern Europe.

“We consider ourselves fully equipped to manage the expected transport volumes due to the expansion of our logistics network and the organisational preparations for the fourth quarter”, CEO Georg Pölzl states.
