XPO Logistics has been awarded a contract to operate the global parts distribution centre of Cummins, a manufacturer of power generation products.
XPO will manage approximately 800 staff and over 2,700 orders daily from Cummins’ 1m sq ft primary parts distribution facility in Memphis.
More specifically, XPO will be responsible for distributing component parts, rebuild kits and remanufactured engines to the manufacturer’s global network of warehouses, as well as supporting thousands of Cummins dealers in North America. The logistics provider will also provide custom-designed technology for parts stocking and control, fulfilment, shipping and returns management.
