Wincanton has won a contract with Britvic, the UK-based soft drinks supplier, to run its transport and warehousing operations. The new five-year contract extends the relationship between the two companies to 29 years.

Under the new contract, Wincanton will manage Britvic’s national transport operations, overseeing company deliveries and stock movements across the UK, handling over 100,000 deliveries per year. Wincanton has also renewed the existing contract to run Britvic’s warehouse in Lutterworth.

The new contract means Wincanton will now run both the transport and distribution side of Britvic’s supply chain. Eddie Stobart had signed a six-year contract to run Britvic’s transportation operations 2011, whilst Wincanton retained a contract to run its warehousing operations in Lutterworth throughout the period. Prior to this, Wincanton ran both elements of the supply chain.

Liam McElroy, Managing Director of Retail and Consumer at Wincanton, said, “Through this new contract, we will work closely with Britvic to develop a best in-class supply chain, deploying our scale and expertise in supply chain optimisation to deliver increased operational flexibility and visibility.”
