Waberer’s has commenced offering a road-rail intermodal service to transport certain consignments between Budapest, Hungary and Neuss, Germany.

Each weekday a train departs in each direction, leaving Hungary and Germany respectively at 10:00 pm. They arrive at their destinations at 6:00 am two days later. The journey of approximately 1,000 km is non-stop.

The intermodal shipments will be transported by a P400 mega trailer fleet consisting of 400 trailers, dedicated for transportation via railways. Waberer’s plans to expand its fleet by an additional 300 in future.

Furthermore, Waberer’s is looking to expand the offering with new intermodal routes to Italy and the Ruhr Area. They also plan to increase the current 30-trailer-a-week capacity on the recently launched German route to 100 in each direction, and to quadruple the number of dedicated tractors (currently 24).
