The majority of Zen’s career has been in retail. With Marks and Spencer PLC his roles evolved from store management in the UK and Europe, through International Business Development, Global Risk Management and then finally as Head of Supply Chain Operations. Zen oversaw the transformation of the M&S general merchandise supply chain where goods were purchased in the UK to one of international direct sourcing. After leaving M&S he spent a brief time as Supply Chain Director with a leading UK freight forwarding company and then set up The Supply Chain Academy, a training organization specializing in the capability development of senior cross-functional teams.
Zen now runs his own consultancy company, ZY Consulting, and is co-owner of Supply Solutions Ltd, a supply chain training company. Zen counts amongst his many clients companies within the NHS, Oil & Gas, Retail, Mining, Automotive, Defense, Engineering and Pharma industries.
Zen’s company, Supply Solutions Ltd, is delivery partner to Plymouth University for an in-house, corporately delivered BA (Hons) International Supply Chain Management.
