Schnellecke to establish CKD packaging centre in Germany for Audi

Schnellecke will open a 45,000 sq m facility in Wolfsburg to perform packaging logistics for Audi. The site will commence operations on July 1.

More specifically, the packaging operations are a necessary part of CKD (completely knocked down) operations for Audi. It entails the picking and packaging of automotive parts for onward transport to automobile manufacturers’ overseas production factories. Goods will be loaded into containers then shipped from northern German ports.

Volker Trinitowski, Schnellecke Managing Director, said, “We already took over the new building available for this purpose on 30 November and are currently in the middle of the detailed planning for the warehouse equipment and are preparing for the interviews in the first wave of recruitment.”
