Royal Mail introduces weekend collections and new tracking services for businesses


According to a recent announcement, Royal Mail has added enhancements to its international portfolio to support and encourage businesses exporting to international markets 

Business customers sending international parcels, are now expected to be able to submit items for delivery up until 19.00 on Saturday and 16:00 on Sunday. The free weekend collection service is expected to be available to customers in England and Wales posting a minimum of 50 items

In addition, Royal Mail has extended its International Tracked product to customers sending parcels to Russia, Cyprus and Lebanon. This takes the number of countries covered by the International Tracked product to 44

The Company has also announced enhancements to the Track and Trace function on its website to give customers direct access to tracking information from the destination country

These new service enhancements are expected to support other recent changes to the company’s international portfolio, including adding the ability to ship to 200 countries using the Click and Drop shipping tool. Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 high volume customers are also expected to be able to post their export parcels at the same time as their domestic parcels.

Royal Mail recently announced it has joined forces with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council to launch a three-year programme aimed at encouraging UK SMEs to export to the Commonwealth
