Rhenus acquires O’Brien Logistics to establish presence in Australia

Rhenus

Rhenus has acquired O’Brien Logistics, a family-owned freight forwarder headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. O’Brien Logistics offers air and sea freight, customs, and warehouse services.

The company was founded as a pure customs clearance firm in 1996, and has only offered air and sea freight forwarding services for the last seven years.

Under the new ownership, O’Brien Logistics will become a national company called Rhenus Logistics Australia.

In future, Rhenus plans to expand its operations across the country by offering domestic traffic services, support for imports and exports, buyers’ consolidation, and warehouse and integrated logistics solutions.

The acquisition will expand Rhenus’ network in Asia Pacific and is in line with its expansion strategy for the region. The logistics provider plans to open new business sites this year in China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
