Pall-Ex opens new UK hub

UK pallet networks have announced that they will be joining forces to offer the government a collaborative supply chain service for critical supplies.

Pall-Ex has announced the opening a new hub in Warrington, UK to compliment Pall-Ex’s existing flagship site in Ellistown, Leicestershire.

The new hub has the capability to utilise 30,000 sq ft of warehousing space, as well as two acres of available parking for lorries. It will serve 19 of its members across the north of England and Scotland. Currie European, an existing Pall-Ex member, will operate the new site, which will replace the previous site in Carlisle.

Kevin Buchanan, Managing Director at Pall-Ex, said: “This new Northern Hub will allow Pall-Ex to process a much larger volume of freight, benefiting the entire network, as well as the north of the UK. Trunks from our northern depots will be processed through the Northern Hub, resulting in reduced travelling costs and improved operational efficiencies.”
