Schenker AG appoints Oliver Seidl as CFO

The DB Group has reported its H1 2020 figures, marking a revenue drop of 11.8%, to €19.4bn, in the first half of 2020.

Schenker AG has announced that Oliver Seidl is set to join its Management Board in Essen, Germany, as Chief Financial Officer following his appointment by the Supervisory Board. He will take up the post at the earliest possible availability. Seidl will be succeeding Lutz Freytag who, between 2004 to 2008, worked within DB AG as Member of the Management Board for Finance/Controlling at Railion Deutschland AG in Mainz, Germany.

The Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Richard Lutz, commented on the appointment, “We are bringing a proven expert on board with relevant experience as the CFO of internationally active businesses.”

From 1990 to 2001, Seidl worked in various roles for Daimler AG in Bremen and Stuttgart, Germany, most recently heading Group management accounting for Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars. Seidl then looked after management accounting, strategy and M&A at medium-sized companies, and from 2010 to 2013, he was Chairman of the Management Board at Loewe AG, having previously served as the management board member for finance and services. Siedl joins Schenker from his current position as CFO of Media-Saturn-Holding in Ingolstadt, Germany.
