Odfjell Tankers takes full control of its operation in Chile after buying out CSAV


Odfjell has acquired its joint venture partner’s stake in in its Chilean business, Odfjell y Vapores. The company transports sulphuric acid and other chemicals and liquids, primarily serving the mining industries in Chile and Peru.

Through the transaction with CSAV, Odfjell will gain full operational and commercial control of two vessels and more broadly its West Coast South America trades.

As part of the deal, ship management services of the two vessels will be transferred to Flumar, Odfjell’s subsidiary in Brazil.

Both vessels are 16 000 DWT, one having 30 tanks, the other 22 tanks.
