Pacific Drilling has selected GAC North America – Logistics to perform warehousing and distribution services for two of its rigs in the US Gulf of Mexico.
The contract entails GAC providing services from two different warehouses.
At the company’s 181,000 sq ft facility in Houston, which has Foreign Trade Zone status, it will aim to offset and cut Pacific Drilling’s procurement costs and better utilise tooling and inventory.
In Belle Chasse, Louisiana, GAC will perform ship spares services as well as weekly consolidations of containers to be shipped to the rigs through Port Fouchon.
This contract marks the first “long-term deal” between GAC and Pacific Drilling in the US, although GAC has already provided logistics services for Pacific Drilling in Cape Town, South Africa.
