Fiege and the Internet retailer, Zalando, have announced the opening of a new 130,000 sq m distribution centre in Gryfino, located in the immediate vicinity of Szczecin. The centre is expected to run at full capacity by summer 2018.
The location of the centre should enable shorter delivery times for Polish shoppers and consumers in Europe’s Nordic countries.
The board member, Jens Fiege, commented: “We are extremely proud that Zalando placed its trust in our competence in the fields of fashion and e-commerce and look forward to extending our collaboration. Fiege has been present in the Polish market for almost 20 years. Having knowledge of the situation on-site paired with well-trained skilled personnel are vital advantages in this context”.
6,000 orders are processed daily in the distribution centre and then shipped out to Poland, Germany, and Scandinavia. The company announced that, moving forward, more countries are to be added.
