FedEx has announced the opening of its new Cold Chain Centre in Memphis, US. According to the announcement, the facility offers a number of features to protect the integrity of temperature-sensitive healthcare shipments, and works to keep temperatures regulated in the event of unforeseen delays.
The facility is 83,000 sq ft and is the first of its kind for the FedEx network. It is expected to support the FedEx global cold chain network and a wider portfolio of FedEx Healthcare Solutions
FedEx highlighted the facility is planned to enables greater possibilities for shipping critical and sensitive products between Europe and the U.S and includes features that are expected to allow movement of biopharmaceuticals across continents
