Damco opens new logistics centre in Myanmar


Damco has opened a new logistics centre in Yangon, Myanmar which will primarily support the sourcing operations of fashion and retail customers located in the region.

The new Damco Myanmar Logistics Centre will provide customers with access to a number of essential services including inventory management, order processing, RF scanning and bar coding. It also offers value-added services such as cross-border and inland trucking.

Marco Civardi, Area Managing Director of Damco Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar commented: “The opening of the new Damco Myanmar Logistics Centre means that we will be able to provide more comprehensive supply chain solutions. As a warehousing distribution hub, this new facility marks a significant step forward in better helping our customers to stay ahead in their respective markets.”

Located close to the emerging industrial zones, Tillawa economic zone (MITT) and city ports, the warehouse offers a total combined space of 10,000 sq m. Built to C-TPAT standards, the warehouse provides modern safety, security and fire-fighting standards making it well-positioned to support increased volumes in the region.
