Bolloré wins ‘flagship’ contract in East Africa with Diageo

Bolloré Transport & Logistics and supply chain services company Czarnikow are collaborating to support Bolloré’s sustainable development in East Africa through the VIVE Sustainable Supply Programme.

Bolloré Logistics Kenya has won a contract to provide warehouse management services to Kenya Breweries Limited, a subsidiary of Diageo and the largest beer manufacturer in East Africa.

The contract involves site management of the brewer’s warehouse facility in Nairobi, approximately 100,000 sq m of covered warehouses and open yards. Bolloré Logistics will handle all customs and regulatory services, inventory management of product from the production line, as well as manage the loading and dispatch of product to and from the facility, a rotation of around 550 trucks per day.

Bolloré Logistics asserts that the project is the largest handled by the company in East Africa, describing it as its “flagship” project in the region. It effectively took over running of the site from DHL Supply Chain on September 1, 2016.

The operation will run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through SQUARE warehouse management system. 600 employees have been hired and will operate on a three shift schedule.
