Bolloré Logistics expands aerospace logistics network

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has released data for global air freight markets in April showing that demand dropped 27.7% Y-o-Y.

In order to better serve aerospace clients, Bolloré Logistics USA announced the opening of its new AOG branch (Aircraft On Ground), fully dedicated to AOG shipments, which became operational on May 1st, 2018. The branch offers AOG services for select contracted clients and AOG requests by quotation.

This Centre of Expertise (COE) is located within the Dallas facility, alongside the Aerospace Control Tower and the Support Team of an aircraft manufacturer.

Clients with contractual agreements for 24/7 AOG service will be transitioned gradually over the first few months in several phases. Phase 1, already implemented, consists of US export AOG service level shipments for two large airlines. Bolloré Logistics offers services adapted to the aerospace industry requirements and the different level of urgency of some aircraft parts: routine (hub consolidation), critical (direct shipment) and AOG (priority/first flight out).

In addition to clients with 24/7 AOG service, the team will also handle true AOG shipments for other clients, as agreed on a per shipment quotation basis.
