CMA CGM announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement with Godilco, a Uruguayan logistics company, through its subsidiary CMA CGM LOG. Under the agreement CMA CGM plans to widen its warehousing and distribution services offer in Uruguay. The partnership is set to run for two years and will expire in June 2017.
Through the partnership with Godilco CMA CGM LOG will be able to provide its clients with a bonded warehousing offering and local distribution solutions. For CMA CGM the strategic goal of this agreement is to strengthen its presence in Uruguay so it can better serve clients in the neighbouring countries of Paraguay, Argentina and Chile.
CMA CGM is already present in Uruguay through its office in Montevideo and its 5 direct lines calling the port of the city.
Mathieu Friedberg, CMA CGM’s Vice President Freight forwarding and Logistics said, “The partnership with Godilco is a decisive step in the Group’s development in Latin America. CMA CGM LOG has been operating in Brazil since 2013 and now pursues its development by opening new offices in Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru, Chile and Bolivia. We see South America as a high potential area and we want to position ourselves as a pioneer in this part of the world.”
