AliExpress, a retail marketplace for worldwide consumers and a business within Alibaba Group, has announced plans to develop its e-commerce capabilities in Indonesia through a partnership with local businesses.
AliExpress will cooperate with Singapore Post and its partner in Indonesia, Pos Indonesia, a provider of logistics solutions in Indonesia, to enable faster delivery time from China to Jakarta. As a result of the cooperation AliExpress states that Indonesian buyers can expect their packages to arrive within two weeks, much faster compared to over 35 days previously.
“Singapore Post has been strengthening our e-commerce logistics capabilities to meet the growing e-commerce consumer market. Innovation and continuous enhancement is key to us supporting customers’ online shopping experience. We are happy that we are able to provide this new delivery service option to AliExpress with the partnership from Pos Indonesia. Customers in Indonesia stand to enjoy a much cheaper and faster delivery service to complement their shopping experience,” said Goh Hui Ling, Senior Vice President of International Mail at Singapore Post.
“Pos Indonesia is delighted to support AliExpress and Singapore Post in helping online consumers in Indonesia to buy products available on AliExpress website. We will support this cooperation with all our capacity, including 6,000 delivery postmen in all over Indonesia Island. All customers will be able to monitor and trace the goods through website ems.posindonesia.co.id. Pos Indonesia also has support from Indonesia Customs Authority to guarantee the smooth inspection process of these online goods,” said Mohamad Said Haryadi, Vice President for International Services of Pos Indonesia.
