DPD invests £10.2m in new depots

DPD announced that it has invested £10.2m on new UK depots in Dartford, Feltham, Radlett, Reading, Liverpool and Lincoln. The depots, which collectively are expected to create over 250 new jobs, will expand DPD’s capacity to handle a significant increase in B2C parcel volumes.

The purpose built facilities in Dartford, Feltham and Reading are replacements for existing DPD depots while Lincoln, Liverpool and Radlett are new depot locations for the company.

The depots at Dartford, Feltham and Radlett are 36,000 sq ft each and will be used to serve London. The depot at Reading is of the same specifications and will cover areas to the west of London.

Away from London DPD has invested £100,000 in developing a 27,500 sq ft depot in Lincoln to serve the east coast as well as some Doncaster, Grimsby and Retford postcodes. While in Liverpool a similar depot will help support DPD’s existing depots in Warrington and Manchester.

Dwain McDonald, DPD’s Chief Executive Officer commented, “The level of investment in our network this year is unprecedented. These new depots are part of our ongoing expansion, enabling us to increase our capacity and ensure we are always several steps ahead of the competition and the growing demand for our services.”
