Mainfreight opens contract logistics facility in Belgium

Mainfreight has opened a logistics centre in Ghent, Belgium, which offers logistics, distribution and value-added services.

The warehouse has a storage capacity of 8,500 sq m, and can be extended to 30,000 sq m.

It brings the company’s warehousing footprint to 120,000 sq m in Belgium and 340,000 sq m in Europe.

Mainfreight already has sites in Ostend and Genk which offer logistics and distribution activities while air and ocean freight forwarding activities are organised from Brussels and Antwerp.

The Ghent facility is a multi-customer site with eight loading docks and is less than 2 km from a container barge terminal.

Food logistics, ambient logistics and dangerous goods can all be handled at the facility.
