Kuehne + Nagel invests in pharmaceuticals logistics

Kuehne + Nagel has expanded its specialty trailer network in Belgium and Luxembourg by investing in 50 temperature-controlled pharma trailers. The company now has a fleet of over 100 such trailers throughout its operations in Europe.

The specialty trailers are manufactured with aggregates that guarantee temperature control at all times through built-in DAC (Discharge Air Control) and PTC (Precision Temperature Control) technology. Moreover, they protect the cargo from temperature deviation which is a key industry requirement. With temperature accuracy improvement, the set point bandwidth has been reduced by 80% and the temperature sensitivity control has been improved in the remote zone of the trailer, reducing the risk of pharmaceutical products being damaged by frost.

“We are committed to investing in best-in-class equipment to ensure our customers’ products arrive at their destination safe and completely intact through shipping fully compliant according to temperature guidelines”, Kevin Nash, Managing Director  Kuehne + Nagel Belgium & Luxembourg. “The expansion further solidifies KN PharmaChain as a leading pharma logistics service in Europe and as part of our global network.”
