“K”Line – Gemadept opens a new Vehicle Processing Centre in Vietnam

In an effort to continue with its expansion in the field of logistics and value added services for imported Completely Built Up cars, “K”line – Gemadept Logistics Company Limited (KGL) has opened a new Vehicle Processing Centre (VPC) in Vietnam.

KGL is investing in its container depot services in response to Vietnam’s road map for cutting import duty for cars from ASEAN to 0% in 2018. It is reported that the number of cars imported into Vietnam increased by 100% in 2016 compared to 2015.

To meet the rising demand for logistics services serving this kind of cargo, in July 2016, KGL started the construction of KGL VPC. The new 20,000 sq m logistics centre was completed within six months and is now in operation. Located at Long Hau IZ, Long An province, it provides services to automotive manufacturers and car dealers.
