Freightways experienced revenue growth of 7.9% in its 2017 financial year. The company reported turnover of NZ$545.3m. EBITA was up 14.3% to NZ$93.0m. This led to NPAT of NZ$60.9m, up 22.3% year-over-year.
Strong results were seen in the Express Package and Business Mail segment. Operating revenue of NZ$402.6m represented an 8.7% increase, whilst EBITA was up 5.1% to NZ$65.3m. Volume growth was seen from both existing and new customers.
Its information Management segment produced revenues of NZ$144.2m, up 5.4% from the previous year. EBITA was 2.7% higher at NZ$27.7m.
Freightways said volume growth experienced through 2017 was expected to continue and increase into 2018. It is targeting year-on-year earnings growth.
