DPDgroup takes a minority stake in Singapore based Ninja Van

DPD UK has announced that Oxford has become its first all-electric city, as all future parcel deliveries will be made with electric vehicles.

DPDgroup has become one of the investors to participate in funding of Ninja Van, a Southeast Asian logistics start-up.

By becoming an investor in this rapidly growing parcel delivery service provider, DPDgroup intends to better understand and seize the business opportunities of the local domestic markets, and to provide connections to its many existing investments and partners worldwide.

Ninja Van is a technology-enabled, last-mile logistics operator, which provides delivery solutions to businesses of all sizes. It operates parcel delivery networks in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

“As parcel delivery expert, DPDgroup is very proud to count Ninja Van among its new international partners. This will give us insight in one of the fastest growing logistic market of the world and create many opportunities for cross-border connections with our many existing own or partner operations in Europe, Africa, Turkey, Russia, Brazil or India”, said Paul-Marie Chavanne, President and CEO of GeoPost.

Launched in 2014, Ninja Van started operations in Singapore to address the logistics needs of customers by offering them options of tracking their parcels, receiving real-time updates and gaining access to alternative pickup points. Recognising that consumers across SEA region want a consistent delivery experience regardless of where they buy from (domestic and/or international) and clients want a singular access point into the region, Ninja Van decided to expand its network to cover SEA region.
