C.H. Robinson opens global forwarding office in San Francisco

C.H. Robinson continues to expand its strategic global footprint with a new global forwarding office in San Francisco. The office will be led by Amy Robinson, general manager, who joined the company in May 2017.

San Francisco, a leading region for the technology, retail and health care industries, was strategically chosen as the office location as it aligns with the company’s organic growth strategy. California represents the sixth largest economy in the world behind the United States, China, Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom; and the San Francisco airport and northern California seaports are among the busiest in the United States.

“This new office demonstrates our commitment to serving customers with boots on the ground in strategic markets,” said Mike Short, president of global forwarding at C.H. Robinson. “The region’s economic growth continues to outpace that of the rest of the country.”

Robinson comes to C.H. Robinson after spending more than 12 years with Expeditors International. Prior to that, she served as the regional vice president over sales and operations for the Northwest region at Pilot Air Freight. Robinson has more than twenty years of experience in the Bay Area.

“With San Francisco serving as a leader in innovation, it is no surprise that a forward thinking global organisation like C.H. Robinson is aligning its teams to focus on expansion,” added Robinson.
