BDP opens second office in Peru, will initially export 100 containers per month

BDP International has opened a new office in Paita, Peru, which will target forwarding business from the country’s growing perishables sector.

The office in Paita is BDP’s second location in Peru. It follows the opening of the Lima office which opened in December 2016 – and brings the company’s global presence to 144 offices in 36 countries, serving more than 134 countries via the BDP network.

Paita is the main port in northern Peru, and one of the largest in the country. Import and export is centred around general cargo, with an emphasis on fishing and agricultural products.

“Peru’s main trading partners in South America, primarily Brazil, Colombia and Chile are interested in taking advantage of BDP’s International purchase order management services at a regional and global level,” said BDP Chairman and CEO Richard J. Bolte, Jr.

The Paita office plans to initially export approximately 100 containers monthly to global destinations. Operations will be overseen by Hector Midolo, BDP’s Managing Director, Latin America.
