Cargolux appoints new Regional Director West and North Europe


Cargolux has announced that Gerard Ter Bruggen has joined the company as its new Regional Director West and North Europe, covering Benelux, the UK, Scandinavia and Baltic States.

Gerard Ter Bruggen has 35 years of experience in the airline industry including Traffic, Operations, Customer Service and Country Management as well as operational responsible positions in Sales and Marketing.

He joins Cargolux from Qatar Airways where he held the position of Cargo Manager North and Western Europe. His also had previous stints at Martinair, Pan American World Airways, Dragonair Cargo and Cargo B Airlines.

Niek van der Weide, Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing, said, “We are very pleased to have Gerard in our team of 6 regional directors in Area 2 (Europe, Africa, Middle east & Indian subcontinent)”, adding “His vast experience and excellent contact with the major customers are an important factor and will certainly help Cargolux to further expand and strengthen the relationships with our clients.”

Bruggen new position was effective 1 January and he is expected to be based in Amsterdam.
