DHL secures five-year contract extension with Mothercare

DHL Supply Chain has been awarded a contract extension with Mothercare, a UK retailer of parenting and children’s products, to handle national distribution to its network of 300+ UK stores and international franchises until 2020.

Extending the 25-year relationship between the two companies, DHL is expected to manage the national operation at its main site in Crick, UK, handling both Mothercare and Early Learning Centre brands.

According to the announcement, the new contract will focus on cost and collaborative initiatives, while supporting Mothercare’s agenda to drive growth and reach, with a streamlined distribution model for international markets.

Jon Wood, VP Home and Leisure, DHL Supply Chain said, “We’re delighted to have secured this contract with Mothercare. Our 25-year relationship enables us to work closely together to develop a tailored model that meets Mothercare’s transport needs. Under the new agreement we’re looking forward to using our expertise to create value for Mothercare’s customers and to assisting the company further as it continues to grow internationally.”
