ISS wins crew logistics contract with MSI Ship Management

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), a marine, cargo and supply chain solutions provider, has won a new contract with MSI Ship Management Pte Ltd to provide crew logistics services (CLS) across the globe.

Under the new contract, MSI Ship Management is expected to assign numerous vessels including bulk carriers, VLOCs, chemical and product tankers to ISS to improve its crew transfer service worldwide.

According to the announcement, Singapore-based MSI Ship Management specialises in international ship management services and handles over 2500 seafarers globally, with 1500 at sea at any one time.  With crew costs a major part of operating expenses for ship managers, ISS expects to work in partnership with MSI to improve efficiency using its centralised planning and execution of crew changes and is expecting to achieve at least an initial five per cent reduction of costs for MSI.

ISS has developed a CLS solution for MSI Ship Management based on its fleet profile and trading areas aligned to operational efficiency.

Capt Trond Baade, Senior Vice President, Marine Outsourcing Services, ISS said, “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with MSI to help streamline its crew logistics services.  As a strategic partner, we’ll support MSI in achieving its cost saving objectives while providing exceptional crew transfer and welfare services.”
