AIR FRANCE KLM MARTINAIR Cargo and China Southern Cargo enter into a strategic network partnership

AIR FRANCE KLM MARTINAIR Cargo and China Southern Cargo have announced the signing of a cargo domain agreement. The new partnership is expected to give customers access to China Southern Cargo’s network in the Asia Pacific region and AIR FRANCE KLM MARTINAIR Cargo’s existing network in Europe, Africa and the transatlantic regions.

The agreement is expected to offer customers a combination of wide-body and main-deck capacity on the Europe-China leg. AIR FRANCE KLM MARTINAIR Cargo is expected to serve the main cities in Australia and supply main-deck capacity to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam from the hub at Guangzhou, China. As per the agreement, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, France or Amsterdam Schiphol, the Netherlands, are expected to provide China Southern Cargo with access to the North and South Atlantic markets as well as capacity to Africa, with both European hubs serving Lagos, Nigeria.

The agreement also covers mutual access to the airlines’ respective networks through interlining SPA (Special Prorate Agreements). The partners have also signalled an intent to increase their cooperation on Express and Mail premium products in response to increases in e-commerce trade between Asia and Europe.
